I am in a funny mood today.

I am wondering if we should start an In Law Amnesty Day in which all the In Law problems of all kinds could be forgiven and we bring our estranged in laws (and our own children) back into the fold. Just wondering....

I'm sure you mean well and your heart is in the right place.

The thought of this puts salt in my wounds.  My children, my husband and I have been deeply hurt. The thought of once again being expected to act as if nothing has happened and that everything is fine to me makes me physically ill.  It would give my MIL yet another excuse to hurt us again and not be expected to own what she has done to us.

That would be a wonderful thing.  Wish it could be so.

I think if we could only do that for a day, internally, it would be wonderful. Just our thoughts. I'm gonna try.

It is a lovely idea, but, when I think back on the first 20 years of my marriage and how many "In Law Amnesty Days" I gave, all I can think is....it really didn't make anything better at all, and probably ended up making things worse in the long run.
