I was so happy to see your posting, so happy for myself - part of your message went right over my head but woke me with a start this morning:
"Lots to face and work though beyond the physical. Another level of burnout after going to see Val in our nursing home every day for the last year and a half and watching him die, one brain cell at a time. (His 100th birthday was Oct. 4th and I couldn't get out of bed.) "
I am so sorry you are having to go through this. We experienced the slow death of my MIL through her dementia and have a little understanding of what you are going through. I can't imagine experiencing this with the love of my life. My heart goes out to you.
"And under all of that, the need to end a friendship with an old flame that seemed supportive but was based on his insatiable neediness. (More care giving.)"
Is this the friend who was calling regularly who was was a bright spot for a while? So sorry it turned out to be a weight that drags you down.
When you feel better and and if you are interested, I would love to hear about the energy work that helped you through the illness. I hope you are still getting better every day.
Doe, thank you for highlighting Luise's note. Very perceptive of you. Luise is I guess the matriarch of this site, and as such, her woes can be overlooked. Kind of like our kids with some of us!!! Again thank you Doe.
It sounds like, Luise, you got a little distance on what had been going on with you and had some fine insights. I hope you are getting better and feeling better daily. You obviously needed a time out; so sorry. You are never far from my thoughts.
Much love and admiration,
