This is our new little guy!
He's an oriental shorthair, which means he's got the body (and voice!) of a Siamese, but he's a different colour. In this case, they say he's blue, but really, he's grey.
Oh man, I had forgotten how much fun it is to have a kitten in the house. DD is in LOVE with him and he's quite patient with her.
And here's our little dog:
For a small dog, she's actually pretty mellow and doesn't bark much. The kitten just wants to play with her, but she doesn't know how. There's a little bit of jealousy, but they generally get along.
Anyone else want to show their pets?
I can't see him, Scoop!!!!
Good idea :)
I know! I was SUPPOSED to hit PREVIEW and forgot. I'm still working on it!
That's OK...we are all feeling a heightened anticipation. :D Remember when I put one of al up holding our Chihuahua...and when I put up that picture of him (the dog not Val) sleeping on my bed in a pile of warm socks from the dryer?
Well he doesn't look like he would shed a lot Scoop

Awwwwwww, I wanna hug em.....
how adorable!!!!!!
I got it!!! I did it!!!
This is our newest pug pup, Sylvie :) She's sweet and a pug. Wants food, sleep and pets. Snores like a freight train
Looks like she came with her own tattoo
Okay, I got it now.
Kitten:

Coco:

It's not obvious how to do it. If anyone else wants to post pics from Flickr, I can help with that.
PS - It's true, Coco doesn't shed at all. She's a Maltese-Yorkie mix - a Morkie!
SO cute, Scoop!
The kittens ears....awww lol
I wanted to give him a pirate name because he has big buccaneers! (Say it out loud.)
LOL, he's a cutie patootie. DH says no cats, ugh.
I said it out loud. Now, do I need to delete it?
Darling pets! This is fun!!
Sorry Luise. I just really liked that joke.
You can delete it, I know the rules.
I'm still saying it out loud.. maybe I have a speech impediment because I'm not hearing it.
I got it Scoop! Oh lol!
oh, sure, Laurie! ::)
I have no pets.....(sigh). It's one compromise I made for DH. He loves animals, just not in the house.
Oh, thank heaven! He isn't perfect after all! Whew! I was kelly-green!
Well no...not perfect at all....but does it count that he takes me to the zoo, aquarium and pet stores to play with them cause he feels bad?
It seems to be working for you but/and it wouldn't for me. When I married Val, 21 years ago, he didn't have a pet because "they were for kids." Well, now what? I had 2 little dogs. Luckily he was so smitten that if I had had a pet rhinoceros that ate at the table he would have taken it in his stride.
Now, however, I never put myself in a spot where he might have to choose between Me, Too, the Chihuahua and me. Nope! Too risky! ;D ;D ;D
This is Anne.
This is my first time to upload a photo, lets see if it works. -Tara
This is Annie when she was a baby, she is 4 in the photo above.

It works because I knew it when we were dating, but I do miss having a pet. I always had at least one growing up and as an adult. I said something the other night about a cat, and he just rolled his eyes. I threw out (just to test the waters) "Oh, honey I know if I pleaded with you and said I really, really wanted a cat, you would give in." He smiled and said, "I probably would." So I now know that if I became desperate with want of a pet, he would probably give in, but at the same time, I don't want to do that to him because it wouldn't be fair to him because I knew it up front.
Hi Julia, no her eyes aren't that aqua, I can't get a picture of her real eye color though, the camera turns it that color. Her eyes are that newborn baby blueish, it's really hard to tell b/c she is so dark.
Pooh, my DH was the same way until we went on a field trip to the shelter. Then we came back with him. :)

"Me, Too" is a 3 1/2 pound, 15 year-old Chihuahua.

Tara, they are all pugs lol.

Jenni and Chibi
Darling! :D
Sweet! looks like they are friends.
Love the bed!
Yeah Pooh.. it's done in a faux animal print, but it does help to bring out the beast in the girls.. hmm this is kinda how I picture your bed as well.. only slightly larger
(I'm not going there.)

My baby, Hurley!
What a beauty! :D
He does look like he'd like to have two friendly female rats in his life
LOL...he's a handful, that's for sure.

Actually it is very softly romantic in browns, oranges and yellows....but now last night....it was covered in rose petals! (cover your eyes Luise)
Oh....my hayfever!!
(Whispers) They were silk...no benadryl required....
Oh my gosh, how do you guys sleep on that? lol, i tried it once and felt like I was on a slip and slide.
Pam.. I think that is the feeling that she was intending.
Hee hee...didn't sleep on them....cleaned it up before we went to bed. I didn't want to wake up and find them in places that they should't be!
LOL! Wow
Ha ha ha...sorry, but it was the truth! ;D
OMG the pictures are so precious of everyone's pets.
I recently rescued this little girl her name is MIA she is a Pomenese and she is such a great addition to our family! The other handsome lad is Bailey our Beagle. He is actually my youngest son Michael's dog and we have had him since he was 7 weeks old. Bailey is going to be 5 in April and Mia will be 2 in May, so I am complete.....LOL
Animals love unconditionally which is why they are such a calming affect in our lives.
Hope everyone has a great day! :)
Oh, they are adorable AL. I love beagles.
My son and dil have the sweetest Beagle that I've ever known.. his name is Dexter and he is so incredibly laid back and well mannered... their other dog is a pill and has taken to peeing on Dexter.. I think they may have a little problem on their hands
The Westminster Dog Show was last night so I was looking through all the pictures of different dogs.. then I started following links.. you know where that leads... ahhhh honey I want that dog.. please ... I just had to share this one with everyone.. at first they are kinda funny looking but once you get past that they are really beautiful dogs.. be sure to look for the tiny puppy being held in the palm of someones hand

Ok, I could handle the powderpuff ones, but hairless breeds freak me out. I just want to put sweaters on them cause they gotta be cold.
they said that you have to put lotion on them daily and sun screen in the summer.. I'll bet petting them is the closes thing to touching a baby.. with your eyes shut of course
I was glad to see that "best of show" went to a totally different breed of dog. I think Westminster has always done a good job of recognizing all breeds of dogs.

Westminster is very loyal to some breeds.. but the dog that won was simply beautiful and if you ever read the standards for the breed he was a stunning example of the breed. I use to show bloodhounds, was lucky enough to have one invited to the Westminster and as honored as I was, my dog was owner-handled for the most part. I couldn't play financially in that big boys game, nor did I belong there.. My dog might have freaked had she seen a judge in an evening gown :) we're so classless here in Texas yanno.
Wow! That was still an honor well deserved. I love this thread!

Oh what a great way to start the day... that was great Rose.. thank you so much for sharing. By now everyone on my e-mail list has received the link as well.. what a fun thing to share... Thanks again
The girls :)

Oh, funny!
Thank you all for this great thread. It made me smile a lot, and I needed that! I want to post photos of our darling pets for this thread, but I have to wait for my 11 year old grandaughter to come home from school and show me how to do it :P. Sad huh? I guess I will be learning something new today, which is a good thing! I loved all of your pets ladies. I adore animals, and my grandaughter would have a zillion if we could. My husband and I tease her and call her "Ellie May" because of her love for "critters"...can anyone name that old tv show? Please post more photos I love it! Now I'm thinking we need a dog! House is full with Mama Kitty, the aquarium, and the three "fat boys" Chip, Ted, and Max the guinea pigs, but GD is begging for more pets! Luise, the name Me,Too is GREAT! How unique!
Wow, they are kind of cute Laurie. Do you have any pix of them eating the marshmellows? :)
I'll have to try and coordinate that one Pam... they are really fast little creatures

Laurie,
somehow i thought you might have rodents for pets lol. Are they rats? Are they trying to make little rats in the photo or is he killing it?? What are there names.

Actually they are my son's rats.. I told him that it would irresponsible to get a dog.. so this was what he did.. then he left the country.. still irresponsible ... they are both females and they were having a little sister moment in that one photo... I call them yats.. sounds so much better then hi rats.... their official names are in Japanese so even if I knew I probably couldn't pronounce it. But if you ever owned a small rodent (pesty kids not included) you'd notice that rats are really funny little creatures and they don't bite.. people that is.. wires are a different story.
Do they play with each other a lot? Or are they generally loners? I can't believe how long their tails are.
We're going to make a rodent lover out of you yet.. Rats actually are social little animals... The always sleep together and the only time I see them choosing not to interact is when food is involved.. they they just become selfish and greedy.. and yes they have very long tails.. not real sure why, or what the reason is for the long tails.
Laurie, they look like little sweethearts! Pam, they are great pets! All of the rat resources I've read also says that you should never get just one rat because they are so social. They can easily get depressed being alone. I remember I felt awful when my first one died and my second one seemed so lonely and sad. I think I read somewhere the tails are for balance since out in the wild they climb a lot? Not sure.
Yeah, I'm kind of thinking on it for DD. She really likes animals and wants some of her "own." They are pretty cute little guys, I guess I had never really looked at them so closely before.
Just make sure you get two. Our little rat died very young b/c he was alone and depressed.
They're not a lot of work and they do like to snuggle and play. Some people say they stink, but that's probably because they don't clean the cage out often.
And be careful of two-of-"what" or they will have lots of company!
I read someplace that the long tail is like the pole that tightrope walkers use. So that is definitely about balance. The can run across beams way up high.
I had a mouse fall into my hair one night in a rented (too) rustic cabin. I was asleep and it must have been running along a log above me. I just reached up and tossed it across the room and went back to sleep. (Did I tell you about the time a man came into our apartment in the middle of the night? I've never been good at locking doos.)
Thanks guys!
I watched that show Hoarders. They had an episode of a guy who started out with two females and one male. And they got out and mated in the walls. They caught over 2000 on one trip and the guy kept catching hundreds more.
Well, that wrecked all my cute rat thoughts for the day... ;)
LOL, they were actually kind of cute and smart. I felt really bad for the guy.
Just have to remember two of the same type.
go for the females if you do Pam.. the females are nice and you don't have to explain the swollen bottoms to a child.
