Barbie,
Thanks for taking the time to watch it.  It made me want to be more optimistic and appreciate what I have.  I have a wonderful life - a super husband and three beautiful adult children, their spouses, and our darling gc.  I work with some very good people and live in a safe, caring neighborhood as well.  I live a comfortable life and my dh and I go out to eat A LOT, which I love to do.  I have it made.  I have to think about all the good things in my life.  I have much, much, more good than troublesome.  Why do I always focus on the negative?  Why?
Hugs, Hope

Hope,

To us, our children are our world, nothing means more to us than them, there's nothing we wouldn't do for them and when they act the way our DS's are acting, our whole world comes crushing down, a part of us is gone, we don't understand, nothing means anything to us. We feel betrayed by the person we love the most. You and I are very lucky to have good and caring husbands and to have other children, when I read your posts I can see that our lives are very similar except that I don't work. Things have gotten a little bit better for me but I've also changed my attitude with DH's help.

You know, Hope, I wanted to be a GM for years, my youngest is 20, I was so ready to babysit and I wanted to take GD to the park and Disney World and a Disney cruise, I had so many dreams, well, don't get me wrong, we enjoy seeing our GD but when we have her for one day we end up so tired, remember when our kids were small how hard it was to sit down at a restaurant to eat a meal?, and our lives revolved around our kids, when we put them down for their nap was the only time we had some peace and quite or we had to wait for them to wake up from their naps to go out, so what I've been doing in order to feel better is tell myself: "this is not for me, I already raised my kids, I love my peace and quite, it's time for me to enjoy life" and things of that sort and it's working to the point that I don't long to babysit anymore or even see GD on a regular basis. I also see that my friends that have their children live near by get taken advantage of, so the truth is that the grass isn't any greener on the other side. We really do need to count our blessings and concentrate on all the good things and find comfort knowing that our DS are alive and well and that they are where they want to be and hope that they're happy with their lives and their choices, DH and I doubt we'll ever be close to DS's children although you never know, but we have other children so hopefully we'll get another shot at it.

Hang in there my friend, I pray God gives you strength.

Hugs.

Beautiful, Hope. Thanks for sharing. She says she feels like the luckiest person in the world. What an eloquent reminder of the healing power of gratitude and forgiveness, two concepts with which I struggle often.

Barbie and Pen,
I value your friendships - and that of the other fine women here.  Another reason for me to be thankful.

Barbie

Great post to Hope.  It is true.  All I want sometimes is to have my gc at home.  I end up so tired...they are handsful.  I dont know when I feel happier, when they arrive or when they leave...After three or four days of not seeing them, I miss them so much...that I run to other grandma's house to see them there.  (they stay with other grandma from monday to thursday, and I get only Fridays).   I do babysit also sometimes on weekends and have them to sleep.
When I was raising my three children, I really dreamt about them growing up so that I would have some peace and quiet.   I am sure you (Hope and you) will get another shot....and it will be up to you to decide how much to babysit lol.

Having other children and a Great Husband is also an asset.... lets think in what we do have....and focus and giving our energy to those who deserve it.

Love
