OMGOSH!! I was reading on the hate sites and found this one young woman whose MIL/FIL had sent a Christmas card out with a picture of "their baby girl" on it. They are SO MAD at the inlaws now.
The caption on the card says: "look what Santa brought us!" and has their names on it.
OMGOSH!! I have sent out Christmas pictures of the grandkids at Christmas too!! I haven't heard anything bad about it at all.
You'd think the couple would be happy that the grandparents were this thrilled about their child!!! DILs Mother is furious too. Apparently, boundaries, you know? This has caused a whole stir of controversy on the site. People tell her to "cut them off!!!" Off with their heads!
My friends send us pictures of their grandkids too at Christmas.

And they think the inlaws are trying to make their baby THEIRS!!! What has happened to the world? Hello? Is anyone sane anymore?

I don't see anything at all wrong with that , however, I wouldn't dare do it b/c I know it would make dil mad and son would side with her and say it was awful LOL.
I don't understand these young women not knowing that when Grandparents love their children it could only enrich everyones life.
I guess I should give mine A+ for not being upset when I did it!!

While I think it's fine that grandparents send pictures of the grandkids I can understand why the gal was upset. And in the same situation I might be too. I went back to read that post and it seems it was the Baby's 1st christmas and they wanted to do the new baby announcements. I went back over today and she posted more background. Apparently the Grandparents took the baby to the store without a carseat while some other serious health issues were happening, That I admit would really upset me. But just adding pics of the grandkids in the letter I don't really see a problem with as long as everyone is on the same page about it.
I didn't see the background....only the title and answers in the thread. Thank you for clearing that up. Looks like this is a real issue with the DILs and most of them are very mad about the pictures.
I do have to, once again, give my DILs points for thinking it was great of us to send out pictures of their kids to family at friends at Christmas. They take it as a compliment.
You never know, though and I should always inquire first, though.
A comment was made on the hate site that said that we, as MILs, are just looking for ways to not like or get rid of DILs. That hurts. I have tried so hard! I know all of you have too.
Oh! So not true!! Nothing could be further from the truth.
