When I typing a post, I am able to use the toolbar features, such as Bold, Font, change colour etc.
Is there a procedure to activiate for being able to use a feature.\
Thank you
Luise!
How in the word did you do that? Please tell me?
Maybe I did not explain myself correctly, when typing a post, I want to change a color or make the type bold, when I click on these tabs it does work.
Thanks Luise, for the words going across the screen, Wow! I am impressed but still would like to know about my question?
I clicked on the 7th icon over on the middle line. It is a "M" When it comes up in the reply box, where I am now typing you click in the middle and put what ever you want there. Then go down below the reply box and click on Preview to see if you got it right. (I learned that from Laurie.)
If you can use color and bold, etc., I honestly don't understand your question. Maybe Laurie can answer it.
Sure.. highlight the text (in your reply text box) that you would like to make bold or change the color of and then click the pull down for change color.. click the color you want.. same with bold.. highlight the text you would like to have altered and then click the B for bold
If you hold your cursor over the different tabs you will see what each one is.
When done, click "preview" and scroll back up above the command keys to see the preview.. hope that helps.. if you can't get it pm me and I'll walk you through it.
Bless you Laurie!
not a problem.. it's nice to be a little creative with your postings
And you are a GREAT teacher! :)
yeah but I did give up on teaching the kids to tie shoe laces (two were lefties) and went to velcro... computer commands are so much easier
To you! ;D ;D ;D
To Laurie:
It worked, thanks.
The step I missed out was "preview" where it shows what I did, such as bold and change colour.
I assumed when I was typing the post, and clicked on these buttons, it would show in the post I was typing.
Since I never tried using the toolbar, I assumed it would be the same as typing a letter in Microsoft Word or other word programs, and you could use these toolbar features, when typing.
Thank you
yep it's a little different.... so the next rainbow post is coming from you I'm assuming.
Dear Laurie:
Excuse, my ignorance, but what do you mean by "rainbow posting", is that the one that Luise shows in her posting, where words go across the screen?
If so, how do you do that?
Want to learn! Yep! even at my age.
Thanks again Laurie
no I meant a rainbow of different colors... what Luise does is called scrolling
Once again highlight what you would like to have scroll and then click the Marque command..(if you are looking at all your command buttons it's the one that is actually scrolling with the M on it)
;D just like this ;)
Again.. look at your preview to see if it's responding the way you intended.
like this Laurie
Wow! I have learned more in one day, then I have in ages.
Is there a section in this forum for learning all these features, or is a matter of common sense?
Thanks again, for your help.
It's only common sense if you were born after 1983
Very true, I was born in 1983 and I have a hard enough time figuring out how to quote. (No disrespect to the moderators; I just have a long learning curve with this stuff!)
Laurie, very good response.
:D ;D :)
Had my laugh for the day.
Holli! You were born in 1983 too? It's a small world.
Oh, Laurie...I finally see what you did there. It took Pooh pointing it out. Haha.
Must be why I get along with ya'll so well...definitely generational!
ok, I have to try this

It reminds me of the stock market every time I see one.... ;D
I'm getting motion sickness :P
Xxxx ... and I don't like those banner ads either!
My browser gets rid of banner ads, but it hasn't yet conquered these annoying WWU doohickeys.
Update: Browser now smarter. Marquee on, sisters. It won't bother me.
Okay Laurie:
I bite! How do you add photos.
I really believe that there are ladies out there that are learning new things also.
Keep it up, this just might be a learning experience for some novices
See if you can locate our previous conversation on how to upload pictures.. it was casual and in the middle of a topic http://www.wisewomenunite.com/index.php/topic,1057.150.html (http://www.wisewomenunite.com/index.php/topic,1057.150.html) Read over all that and let me know if you could make heads or tails out of it.
Well, Laurie, I am stumped - - cannot make heads of tails out of it.
Is there a simplier way of downloading a picture from "picture file", i.e., Kodak, My documents-pictures?
Thanks
I'll take it pm to not bored the others.. look for my message

I'm curious. Does the "Insert Image" button (just below the B button) on the "Post reply" toolbar actually work?
Yes it does seasage but that is simply a command... you still have to give it a link.. let me rephrase.. the command only tells the reply text box that you wish to 'insert' something, but you will still need to tell it what to insert. And remember you can't insert photos directly from your computer.. the easiest way to do it is to have your photo's uploaded to an online storage site.
Laurie:
I don't believe this subject is boring, look at the responses.
Maybe, you should have a topic strictly for these questions and you would be the instructor/teacher, I mean it.
I joined Photobucket, but still do not get the hang of it.Will take more time to read over and try to learn how to use it.
Get the hand of uploading photos to photobucket and then we'll go from there... I'm afraid that if there was a set place for the tutorials that Luise would have to hire someone who knows and uses all the correct terminology.. but if we could get Luise posting pictures.. we can get you through it as well.
I agree Laurie should be given a title, technical officer
color=teal][/color]I am sure I uploaded my picture from my computor but cannot remember how I did it
If you want colour and it to move where do you type between color/color or move/move>
put everything you want to move between the [ ] move commands.. then highlight the words you want colored and proceed to the 'change color' pull down and pick your color.. remember to preview before you post to make sure it's doing what you want.
