News:

"Welcome to WiseWomenUnite.com -- When adult children marry and leave home, life can sometimes get more complex instead of simpler.  Being a mother-in-law or daughter-in-law can be tough.  How do we extend love and support to our mothers-in-law, adult children, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, and grandchildren without interfering?  What do we do when there are communication problems?  How can we ask for help when we need it without being a burden?  And how do our family members feel about these issues?  We invite you to join our free forum, read some posts... and when you're ready...share your challenges and wisdom."

Yes, Welcome - I am Luise Volta, the owner of this site. I haven't been very active recently , (see "Luise's Worry Post" under Grab Bag,) because of my care taking issues. I am 83 and my husband is 98.

Please read my vision statement at the top right on the Home Page and under "Open Me First" please also read our agreement. If all of that makes sense, then post away!

This isn't the site you are looking for, however, if you post harshly or enjoy being unkind. Most of us come here looking for understanding. We are working through tough issues and are often thin-skinned and in need of support. In other words, it isn't a hate-site and anyone who enjoys that kind of interaction will be dropped from membership. Not to worry...there are lots of places for that kind of thing on the Web.

We started out as a MIL site, looking for ways to solve issues in our extended families. Very soon, wonderful DILs who wanted the same thing started showing up. So, I changed the name of my site from www.motherinlawsunite.com to www.wisewomenunite.com. If you are interested, I have another site: www.momresponds.com where my bio and photo appear.

Picture an easy chair and a cup of tea...come on in and enjoy.
Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible. Dalai Lama

Rolling out the red carpet for you all!
