"Welcome to WiseWomenUnite.com -- When adult children marry and leave home, life can sometimes get more complex instead of simpler.  Being a mother-in-law or daughter-in-law can be tough.  How do we extend love and support to our mothers-in-law, adult children, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, and grandchildren without interfering?  What do we do when there are communication problems?  How can we ask for help when we need it without being a burden?  And how do our family members feel about these issues?  We invite you to join our free forum, read some posts... and when you're ready...share your challenges and wisdom."

Well then if you already told her that, then please be sure to be wearing wool socks next time.

When my mother committed suicide,  the minister came to visit and said "You don't seem very upset" this after I had cried non stop for three days. 33 years later I haven't forgotten that.

I also found out the world and his wife knew of somebody who had committed suicide.

I would say to your annoying, upsetting colleague,

"Stop right there! I am going through a VERY painful situation with my GC. Listening to you upsets me. Please change the subject NOW.

That is a polite way of putting it, otherwise you could tell her to shut up!" She is being very rude in my opinion so the sock may be the best way to go. I could send you my DH's size 12's.
