"Welcome to WiseWomenUnite.com -- When adult children marry and leave home, life can sometimes get more complex instead of simpler.  Being a mother-in-law or daughter-in-law can be tough.  How do we extend love and support to our mothers-in-law, adult children, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, and grandchildren without interfering?  What do we do when there are communication problems?  How can we ask for help when we need it without being a burden?  And how do our family members feel about these issues?  We invite you to join our free forum, read some posts... and when you're ready...share your challenges and wisdom."

What I've learned after Thanksgiving

Some things I've learned after having been so afraid of having Thanksgiving with my DIL coming here are:

I have allowed a screwball little brat to ruin my life, make me sick and wreck my health.  A rude, contolling, crazy, not very bright, mean young woman, who has about as much tact as a piece of paper, ruin MY LIFE!

I am so mad at myself....maybe that's what this whole thing was about.  I needed to get mad at ME.  I needed to see what this really was.

How in the world have I allowed this?  What has gone wrong with me?  Her?  I allowed her to ruin my life?  Are you kidding me?

Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible. Dalai Lama

Thank you, Luise....that's what this board is for, help and healing!

I hope, speaking of healing, that you are getting better.  Much love :)
