For all the Ladies Here
« on: May 09, 2010, 05:01:20 AM »
I am in awe, miracle of blossoms
almond buds, sing me to them
transmitting sweet mountain meadows
tall emerald green
lazy brook whispering gurgling sonnets
remarkable things,
hours that speak
air so boisterous pauses to embrace me
with mysticism
uncomplaining, persistent
bleached with pine colored vines
jeweled moths of waxoned bells
swaying from side to side
warmed by some flower drenched sweetness

What a lovely gift! Thank you! Did you write that, Creme?

yes, Luise, thank you, I've written poetry for a long time, as writing seemed to be such good therapy...and helped...in my case, instead of keeping a journal, I wrote poetry for many years...

I'm glad you liked it...I think everyone should write, and that is why I'm so grateful for this website, it is in my eyes, very successful, and it give so many women who are hurting a chance to not only come in and write, they're journals, but, also, for other women to rally by them and help them thru tough times.

I've been having a tough time sleeping, and my doctor suggested I join a support group....however, I know I'd come out of there feeling worse then when I walked in...b/c of the other women's stories...some people really do get a lot out of support groups...I do not...it pains me so to see people hurt...so, I write, instead...and try to be thankful for all Gods gifts...while walking my dog the other day, I thought of this one, I smelled the smells and felt the green....and wanted to share it with you all...hoping it would help lift the spirits of some in here...

the mysticism part meant "lost in a spiritual moment..."
I love to go for walks and loose myself in nature...there are no thoughts, just the awareness of smells, sounds of the forest, and color....nature, sure does provide some very spiritual moments...

I'm so happy Spring is here....aren't you?

Hugs and thank you
Creme

Creme, I'm with you on finding support groups overwhelming.  I get bowled over by everyone else's hurt, plus there's that whole social anxiety thing.  What helps me most is being outside, and listening to uplifting podcasts on my iPod while I walk or sit on a sunny bench and crochet.   My son writes poetry to decompress and let out his upset and stress, which is something I've never been able to do.  He also sketches and writes music.  Creative expression is truly healing.
This too shall pass.  All is well.

I can't write it. I can do verse...like I wrote when I published Ode To an EX-DIL here but that is entirely different. It is so soothing to read, Creme. Thank you!

I can't generalize about support groups because it matters to me who is leading them, how many attend and where and the type of people drawn to the group. I attend a care giver's support group here on campus that I would hate to have to give up because it is so incredibly helpful. Small group- 2 - 6 and led by our staff social worker.

Yup, I hate to cry in front of people, and I cry very easily...stupid me, I think I've watched the Color Purple 20 times, and yet, I still bawl like a baby at the end...

and yes, I'd much rather be on a beach or out in nature...it's certainly a great way to detox....

I would love to read your son's poetry...i don't know if it's allowed, but maybe you could post it here, or he could?

But first we should ask Luise?

Thanks for taking the time to read and reply....

Lets go to the beach sometime...K?  LOL

Luise, Free Verse is a form of poetry and mostly what I do.  Very rarely does my verse rhyme...and some don't like that, but hey, diversity is the key to learning, right...
and I think you are a great writer....

I can understsand what your saying about support groups, and while they have helped so many, I just couldn't...b/c I wouldn't want to start bawling while someone was telling they're stories...I think I'd be more of a liability then an attribute...LOL

but, yes, your right, it would also depend on the leader....

thanks
Creme

Well, my rhymes are free, too. I've never charged a cent for them!  ;D ;D
