DS is stepping up

My DS seems to be stepping up and taking responsibility for keeping his FOO in the picture. No, we're on no where near equal footing with DIL's FOO, but that's OK. I'm proud of him for taking the initiative to plan little get-togethers. He's also showing concern for things we're dealing with, which is a very good sign.

As they say blood is thicker than water . I think eventually our DS feel overpowered by encroaching Dw  family . Since my ds moved very close to his , he is in constant touch and is always asking us to visit . Great news Pen .

Oh Pen...so happy for you.  Things do change overtime....it is only that sometimes it seems forever.  Your son had to miss you....sooner or later.... so progress has been made.  It is not important now to have your dil or dil-s foo near you.  I also read about Jane having his son looked for his dad and telling him that he misses them.....

Hope the future will bring you some more good stuff...you deserve it dear Pen.

Thanks everyone. Apparently DIL's FOO planned a last minute event that coincides with the celebration w/our FOO that DS arranged. DS again stepped up and said he was honoring his first commitment (to us) and that DIL could do what she felt she needed to do. So, DIL is with her FOO and DS is with his on that day.

Turns out DS's MIL has a few issues regarding her ILs, who are very lovely according to DS. I think he's getting tired of her shenanigans and drama. I'm probably looking pretty good right now, lol.

i wouldn't even worry about being on the same footing as DILs FOO!  Heck, I wouldn't even want to be on the same field as them!
