How To Unlock Your Topic If You Accidentally Lock It
« on: February 20, 2010, 04:37:12 PM »
If you accidentally lock your topic, nobody will be able to reply to your posts.

To unlock a "locked topic;"
Open your posted topic screen,
Go to the bottom left side of your topic screen and click on "Unlock Topic."

This will enable others to reply to your posts.

P.S.- Only the person who started the post will be able to lock or unlock the topic.

She must have locked it accidentally.  The problem we're having is that we can't unlock it since it is not either of our posts!  LOL!

When she comes back in, I hope her feelings aren't hurt that she had no replies.  I sent her a PM, telling her about unlocking so hopefully that helps and she will understand why there are no replies...  It's not that we aren't interested.  Just that we can't respond to a "locked topic."  LOL!

LOL!  That's funny, because I can't think of a reason to lock a topic, unless the posting is for informational purposes, and you didn't want a bunch of replies to it??

Like your first two postings in the "Open Me First" Folder.. I can see a purpose in doing that there

Locking a topic is done the exact same way as my instructions for unlocking.

She probably accidentally clicked on this, thinking it might save the post.  It just locked all of her replies out.  What do you think of me opening a reply folder in her name Chickie?

C/C - That makes sense. Actually I don't see that anything else should be in there. All those posts could go out into the site if I knew how to do it and all we'd have would be those two and a Do Not Post Here.

I'm not sure how to move them.  I'll check...

This may be something only you can do.  Give me about 5-10 minutes.

Yes, this is something only you can do.  The rest of us don't have this function.

You may want to wait until Kirk is visiting, and see if he will do that for you.   ;D ;D  For your birthday?? ;D ;D ;D

Hi!
I went into the topic folder and chose one.  Then brought it up on my screen to see if there was some sort of "Move" button.  I didn't have it on my end.

P.S.- There is a "Send This Topic" button, but I tried it and it just gives you the option of sending the posting to someone's email address.

Anyway, there was no "Move" button.  Sometimes if you look around at the software like that and just click on the buttons, you can find out what their functions are.  You can always get out by either hitting your "back arrow" and the very top/left of your internet screen, or hit the "Home" button.

Oh Luise, check your "help" menu right next to your "home" button.  Your help menu is probably different than ours because you are the administrator of this site.  You will have more options!

If you click on this "help" button, you should see some other options come up in another screen. Hold your browser arrow just over each of the words in the new screen that will appear, to see the options available under each one.  Just click around on them and see what the functions are and if you get instructions there.  Don't worry about getting lost.  You can always click on the "Home" button to come back.

Let me know if it's not there.  I'll keep thinking...
