A friend emailed me an article on this earlier today.  I felt so bad for the FDIL, apparently she is a diabetic.

Did you catch this comment submitted in reply: "When you marry the son, you marry the parents too." Or you could just plan on cutting the son from the herd if you don't like his parents...even if they haven't done anything as heinous as this awful FSMIL.

I don't think she actually sent it to her FDIL , she sent it to a friend who then circulated it ...... :o

Whoa.  Sounds like both of them need some lessons in manners, but FMIL should have never wrote such a harsh email.  I have to say, if I was FDIL, I would have a hard time not un-inviting her to the wedding.  Wonder what DS has said about all of this?

LL, she did send it to the FDIL, who then sent it to a couple of friends (kind of along the lines of "OMG, look what she sent me!") and the friends then forwarded it to other people.  At that point, someone posted it online and it just took off from there.

The background I read said that this email was sent to her 3 times, once at her work email and twice at home.  Yikes.  And apparently the complaints about food and the hike had to do with her diabetes which this FMIL does not approve of.
