Hi! I didn't know where to thank you Luise. I wrote about my 3 children leading and living their lives without much contact at all with their father and I. Luise you wrote the most profound and loving reply . I have read and reread it . Its simply beautiful. You said "we can only bring our children to the door of adulthood , and then the ball is in their court". That has been a huge concept to accept. I need to get past the sadness. I am better since I found this site. I am very grateful and want to thank you for your kind and truthful reply and words of wisdom. Thank you, thank you Luise. It took me this many days to realize what a gift you gave me and many others, I'm sure.I don't know where or how to start a page yet , but when I do , i will. I don't even remember how I came to your site but thank God I'm here. Its a blessing to me.

Maria...welcome to this forum.

Yes Luise is always brief and concise.  Words of wisdom all the time.

All we have done for our children...will be paid forward to their own children.  Some grown children feel they dont owe nothing to their parents.....it was our duty to love and care for them.   Mission accomplished....  Some feel they dont need their parents anymore....but they will always be our children and it hurts profoundly not being an important part of their lives.   As :uise said...the ball is in their court.... so Maria...we can only hope.
